We are former residents of your lovely city and now live in Estacada. We were staying two blocks from the World Trade Center in New York City during the disaster on Sept. 11, 2001.
I saw the second plane drive into the building and when the building collapsed we had to run to escape its possible path. Thousands of additional lives were saved because the building imploded.
In order to leave, we could not rent or lease a car so we bought one in which to drive home. My reason for writing you is that we kept notes across the country, mostly using Texaco gas stations and Hood River has the highest prices in all the states we drove through. Your Texaco was $1.95 per gallon! New Jersey was only $1.43. All others were close to $1.59 as an average. You are being taken advantage of. What can you do about it?
