Ski Swap this weekend at Westside

The Hood River Valley High School ski team will hold a ski swap today and Sunday at Westside Elementary. Sale hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. A $2 admission charge applies on Saturday only. All sales are final and 20 percent of all sales go to benefit the HRV ski team.

HR Billiards tournament today

Hood River Billiards is hosting an all-comers double-elimination 9-ball tournament today, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the old Antique Mall facility on East Cascade Ave. Entry fee is $20. Players are asked to bring two cans of food or donate $1 to the Drive for Hunger in Oregon. For more, call 386-2978.

Cooper Spur emergency class Monday

The Cooper Spur Ski Patrol is offering an outdoor emergency care class beginning Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Parkdale Fire Station. Cost is $150 (covers books, materials and dues), and the class will meet twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) for seven weeks. Women runners meeting Wednesday

Shortt Supply is helping organize a women’s running group for the first Wednesday of every month at Full Sail. Nov. 6 is the second formal gathering for local women runners who are involved in marathon, cross-country, trail running and all disciplines in between. Stop by if you’re looking for training partners, information on events, running locations and more. The group will meet from 7-8 p.m. in the Full Sail tasting room. Indian Creek awards dinner upcoming

The Indian Creek women’s golf association will hold a season-ending awards dinner on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Divots Restaurant. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. (no host), with dinner at 7 p.m. and awards to follow. All members are urged to attend. Call Darlene Roberts by Nov. 13 to confirm.

Pauline Kennedy and Bev Saari teamed up last week to win a game of Blind Partners with a score of 64.5. Cynthia Brocklesby and Vera Hawk took second with 67.5 and Darlene Roberts and Sara Starnes a close third with 68.

Summit Snowboard Team training

The Summit Snowboard Team will hold an equipment swap and dryland training on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Hood River Baptist Church. For more information, call Cheramy Rovianek at 386-1396.
