Narciso Lora

Narciso Lora, of Hood River, Ore., died on Nov. 17, 2002, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1922, in Mexico.

His wife, Silveria, three sons and four daughters survive Mr. Lora.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Anderson’s Tribute Center. The recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11 a.m., also at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Vault interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Anderson’s Tribute Center, 386-1000.

Jose Enriquez Perez

Hood River resident Jose Enriquez died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at his home. He was 57 years of age.

A funeral mass was held Monday Nov. 18, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Jose was born Sept. 18, 1945, to Febronio and Maria de Jesus (Perez) Enriquez in Tlacuitapan, Mexico. Mr. Enriquez was raised and educated in Mexico and following his schooling married Maria Enriquez in 1965 in his hometown of Tlacuitapan.

Together in 1970 Mr. Enriquez and his wife moved their family to Hood River, where they have lived ever since. Once here in Hood River, Jose worked seasonally for Floyd Dethman Orchards until eventually securing a full time job with Diamond Fruit Company.

Mr. Enriquez took pride in raising his family and loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly. Jose was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and faithfully attended their weekly prayer group. He enjoyed playing card games and also loved to spend his time farming animals and gardening.

Mr. Enriquez is survived by his wife, Maria, of Hood River, and seven children: Jesus Enriquez and his wife Vicky of Hood River, Raquel and her husband Jose Marquez of California, Febronio Enriquez and his wife Lindsey, Olga and her husband Miguel Campos, Lupita and her husband Lupe Garcia, Ramon Enriquez, and Oscar Enriquez all of Hood River.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren: Mercedes, Ramon Jr., Myranda, Monica, Jesus, Erika, Jesica, Tony, Isaiah, Alejandra, Stephanie, Jacob, Aleeyah, Miguelito and Cristian, brothers Guadalupe Enriquez of Hood River, and Felipe Enriquez of Mexico.

Charles Regorrah

Charles “Chuck” Regorrah, a Hood River, Ore., resident, died Nov. 17, 2002, at the Hood River Care Center. He was 67 years of age.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center.

Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center. A reception will follow the graveside services at the Tribute Center.

Chuck Regorrah was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Round Lake, Wisconsin to Walter and Avis Looker Regorrah. He was raised and educated in Hayward, Wisc., moving to Oregon in 1956. He resided in Coos Bay, Ore., and Portland, Ore., before coming to Hood River in 1961. He owned and operated C.W. Regorrah Trucking Company, an aggregate and asphalt hauling service. He was an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Theron Regorrah in 1977 and William Regorrah in 1985, father Walter Regorrah in 1991 and mother Avis Looker Widell in 1997.

He is survived by three nephews, Larry Regorrah of Grand Forks, N.D., Rod Regorrah of Coos Bay, and Marvin Regorrah of East Grand Forks, Minn.; and two nieces, Becki Regorrah Beach of Olympia, Wash., and Robin Regorrah Smith of Woodland, Wash. Four great-nephews and three great-nieces also survive.

Concluding services and vault interment will be held at Idlewild Cemetery.

Rosemary Petri

Hood River resident Rosemary Petri died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at the Parkhurst House. She was 85 years of age.

Private family services were held on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002.

Rosemary was born Dec. 22, 1916, to William B. and Belle M. (Marr) Clark in Hood River. Mrs. Petri was raised and educated in Hood River. Upon finishing her education Rosemary married Norman D. Petri in Stevenson, Wash. Mrs. Petri and her husband moved to Portland, Ore., to help with the war effort and together raised their family.

Mrs. Petri was an accomplished pianist and loved music. She loved to walk outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Petri is survived by her son Lanny Petri of Roseburg, Ore., daughter Diane Kratzke of Pocatello, Idaho, sisters Norma Baker of Hood River, Catherine Ferguson of Medford, and Patricia Carr of Portland.

She is also survived by grandchildren Linda, Paul, Suzy, Laura, Anne Marie, Norman, and Christy, and seven great-grandchildren.

Ralph Ratliff

Ralph Junior Ratliff, born Jan. 25, 1928, in San Mateo, Calif., died Nov. 18, 2002, at his daughter’s home in Hood River, Ore.

There will be no services. Cards of condolence can be sent to 932 25th St., Hood River, OR 97031.

Betty Holmes

Betty Jones Holmes, 66, a resident of The Dalles, died in The Dalles on Nov. 16, 2002.

She was born June 3, 1936, to Nettie (Johnston) and Archie Martin in Texas. She grew up and lived in the Southern states for many years.

In 1966 she moved to Trout Lake, Wash., where she worked at the Trout Lake School. She also worked at the Hood River Care Center — a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was happily retired for several years.

She moved to Lyle, Wash., about three years ago and to The Dalles two months ago. Betty enjoyed boating, horses and her grandchildren. She considered her most important job but also her greatest joy keeping her five boys in line.

Betty is survived by her husband, Scott Ashton of The Dalles; sons John Crippen of The Dalles, Thomas Crippen of Lyle Wash., Dan and Rick Jones, both of Husum, Wash., and Shawn Garrison of The Dalles; sisters Mary Krautkramer of Grants Pass, Ore. and Peach Johnson of Eureka, Calif., five granddaughters and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Beau Martin, and one granddaughter. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. at the White Salmon Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home.
