Elliott to be honored by OHSBCA

Former Hood River Valley High School Athletic Director and baseball coach Glenn Elliott will be inducted into the Oregon Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday in Tualatin.

Elliott, who won three 3A state championships during his 15 years as head coach of the Eagles, posted a career record of 257-160 and won nine league titles.

He led HRV to 12 state tournament appearances and was actively involved in all facets of Eagles athletics for 20 years — a stint that ended in June when he took an administrative postition at Newberg High School.

Before coming to HRV in 1983, Elliott was head baseball coach at Union High School. He also served as president of the Oregon High School Baseball Coaches Association in 1987, and was a member from 1979-1998.
