Sprint hosts ‘Growing Business’ seminar

Sprint will sponsor an Inc. magazine executive seminar on the role of technology in growing small businesses on Oct. 1

Sponsored in conjunction with the Hood River and other area chambers of commerce, the presentation will feature Steve Little, senior consultant for Inc. Business Resources and founder of several fast-growth companies.

“This presentation was developed with the needs of the small-to-medium business in mind,” said Nancy Judy, state executive for Sprint in Oregon and Washington. “Steve spends a lot of time talking with small business owners and understands the issues they’re facing. This seminar addresses those issues and provides insight on confronting and overcoming them.”

Much of the insight comes from Little’s personal experience. Over the last 15 years, Little has been president of three fast-growth companies, including Erb Industries and FAME, Inc. As president of The Queensboro Shirt Company, he helped build one of the country’s most successful e-commerce sites.

The presentation “Growing Your Business in the 21st Century” will be held from 7:45 a.m. until noon in the Columbia Room at the Best Western Hood River Inn, just off Exit 64 of I-84 in Hood River. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and a hosted continental breakfast will be available at 7:45 a.m. Admission is $10, and attendees are asked to RSVP by pre-paying at their local Chamber of Commerce no later than Sept. 27. The proceeds will go to the various chambers.

The second half of the program beginning at 10:30 will consist of two breakout sessions with two or more topics per session. Attendees will be able to obtain information on network convergence, high-speed DSL, wireless technology or a roundtable session with Steve Little.
