Giant People, OCJ play River City

Open Country Joy, better known to their fans as OCJ, is a band that incorporates such diverse styles as bluegrass, country, jazz, funk, rock, latin, and folk. Open Country Joy comes to Hood River this Friday for a 9:30 p.m. show at the River City Saloon.

Their high-energy sound packs the dance floor and keeps backsides groovin' until the wee hours. OCJ is almost 3 years into the mix, started and still based in the music-centered community of Ellensburg, Wash. They have already established themselves as a favorite in the area, and have gathered a devout following.

On Saturday, Carlos Washington and the Giant People make a return trip to the River City Saloon.

Next Wednesday, Psychedelic Breakfast makes a stop in Hood River for a 9:30 p.m. show at the Saloon. A true fusion of funk, jazz and good ol' rock n' roll. In three short years, PB has become a firmly established mainstay on the New England concert and a fixture at all of the region's major clubs and festivals scene.
