The Hood River Valley girls tennis team won its first-ever Intermountain Conference match by tiebreaker on Friday at Pendleton. Both teams won four matches, but HRV won 10 sets to Pendelton’s eight, giving the Eagles the win. Posting wins for HRV were No. 2 singles player Gena Folts (6-1, 6-2), No. 3 singles player Emily Sager (7-5, 6-1), No. 4 singles player Michi Aniwanter (6-2, 7-5), and the No. 2 doubles team of Brittany Reed and Elie Meierbachtol (pictured above), who won 7-6, 6-4. HRV traveled to Parkrose Tuesday for a non-conference match.
