Dragonflies play KHRV kickoff

Local rockers The Dragonflies headline Saturday’s kickoff concert at Bowe Auditorium, to benefit Hood River Valley High School’s new student radio station. Stick Pony Rodeo, from HRVHS will open the show at 5:30 p.m., followed by The Consul. Suggested admission is $2 for the all ages show.

Yum Gallery hosts own ‘First Friday’

First Friday is still on its winter hiatus, but Yum Gallery is keeping the popular event alive this month by hosting its own First Friday at the gallery from 6 to 9 p.m.

Yum Gallery, at 111 Oak Street, is celebrating eight months in business. The gallery is owned and operated by artists Gretchen Gamble, Jessica Levin, Meghan Walker and Mark Nilsson. Walker recently joined the gallery as a partner, and will be this month’s featured artist. She creates “unique and stimulating” mixed media works of art. For information call 386-2229.

Benefit at Savinos Lounge

Friday is Martini Lounge night with Area 54 at Savinos Lounge in downtown Hood River. There will be a raffle for various prizes to help benefit Solveig Ensign, a young single mother suffering from Cystic Fibrosis and thyroid cancer. The event begins at 7 p.m.
