Pauline Carol Gibson died Nov. 13, 2005, in Seaside at the age of 96.
Pauline Carol Simpson was born June 29, 1909, in Cooperstown, N. D., to Frank J. and Lottie Mae (Piatt) Simpson. In 1925 she and her family relocated to Hood River, where she graduated from high school in 1927. She attended Burns Business College and was a graduate Red Cross nurse. She was employed until her retirement as a medical secretary for several doctors in Hood River and Portland.
Pauline was a member of the Providence Milwaukie Hospital Auxiliary, the City of Roses Good Sam Chapter, and a member and volunteer of the Milwaukie Senior Center. In her younger years she was a 4-H Club leader for 12 years.
She was married to James H. Gibson, owner of Gibson’s Milwaukie Electric. He died in 1986.
Pauline moved to the Oregon north coast in 1997, living in Seaside and Warrenton.
Survivors include her grandson, Michael J. Egge of Portland; granddaughters, Cindy C. Pomerenke of Sandy and Jaymi A. Fischer of Hilo, Hawaii; two great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were two daughters, Iris J. Bay and Patricia C. Fischer; one grandson, Brad T. Bay; and four sisters.
Private services were held at Idlewild Cemetery in Hood River. Remembrances may be made to the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Milwaukie or the William Temple House.
