PROD teaches

We are always pleased to read the articles in your newspaper concerning canine issues. Much more needs to be done to raise awareness of people in our community to be respectful of others when it comes to the ownership of their pets. In your June 4 article, “Only dog owners can prevent dog bites,” you used a photo of one of our PET-ED classes at May Street School. It would have been great if you had mentioned that in the caption below the picture. We are currently fund raising this month and if you plan on running another similar story in the June 8 edition, perhaps you could mention that PROD developed and funded, through an Autzen Foundation grant, the program that is now in the classrooms. Dave Radley, along with his daughter Jesi, friends Steve and Janet Hamada and their lovely canines Bonnie (Shep mix in your photo) and Charlie have reached more than 850 Hood River County students with our program this year.

Thanks for your continued support and the wonderful coverage of our recent DogTalks.
