New North Side Market plans events in June

May 28, 2005

The North Side Community Market has two garage sales and a vehicle sale planned for June.

Eight vendors have already signed up for the June 4 garage sale — and hot dogs and root beer floats will also be available. The Hood River City Police Department, which sponsors the venue, still has 19 spaces open for sellers at the June 18 garage sale. Both events will take place in the parking lot north of Rite Aid off West Cascade Avenue and feature collectibles, electronics, used clothing, tableware and much more.

On June 25, a representative from Cliff Smith Motors will be on site to assist buyers and sellers in automotive transactions. Police Lt. Jerry Brown said the lot provides residents with a “one stop shopping” opportunity for pre-owned cars or trucks.

Both the garage and vehicle sales will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. People interested in reserving a space are invited to call Brown at 387-5253 or Linda Hutson at Safeway at 386-1841. All proceeds from the $20 space rental are used to support the police department’s Sunrise Division and help needy families.
