Helen Geneva Hosman
Helen Geneva Hosman, a longtime Hood River, Oregon resident, died June 25, 2005, at Parkhurst House. She was 90 years of age.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center. A reception will follow.
Helen was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Paragould, Ark., to John and Irnie (Webster) Walker. She moved with her family to Colorado as a child and then came to the Hood River Valley at the age of 14. She graduated from Odell High School. In 1944, she and Howard Hosman were married in Stevenson, Wash.
Helen packed fruit for many years at Diamond Fruit Company and Duckwall Pooley Fruit Company. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and watching basketball and baseball. In her younger years, she liked fishing and camping.
Surviving are her daughter, Nona Moore, and her husband, Lee, of Hood River; grandchildren Mike Moore and his wife, Eve, of Hood River; Steve Moore and his wife, Lilia, of Parkdale, Ore., and Traci Fuller of Portland, Ore.
Ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard, three sisters and two brothers.
Private interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery.
