Richard C. (Dick) Lewis died Sept. 8, 2005, at the Hood River Care Center. He was 95 years old.
Dick was born in 1910 in Fairfield, Iowa. His parents and seven brothers and sisters all preceded him in death.
After high school graduation he came to the Northwest where he married his wife, Florence, and after the war they settled in Trout Lake, Wash. He worked for the Forest Service for a few years then established Dick Lewis Poultry Farms in Trout Lake. After retirement they moved to Hillsboro, Ore. He recently moved back to Hood River to be closer to family.
Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence; daughters Rebecca Knutson and her husband Dennis of Portland, Ore., Katherine Long and her husband Harvey of Mosier, Ore., and Mary Lewis of Tigard, Ore.; four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
