The pressure is on for the Hood RIver Valley High School girls varsity soccer team. Currently sitting in the league’s fourth place position, the girls have two games left in the regular season, both of which will be key to securing a trip to the state playoffs later this month.
This week the Eagles pulled together for two big games.
They hosted Summit on Tuesday, coming away with a 1-1 tie against the league’s second place team. Justine Bryant scored for the Eagles off a penalty kick. The
girls then went on the road Thursday to challenge the Pendleton Buckaroos. Lindsay Halliday, Jessica McMorran and Bryant scored in the Eagles’ 3-0 shut out. Their final two games this season will be against the league’s current fifth and sixth place teams, who will be fighting to steal the fourth place seat from Hood River. The girls take on The Dalles-Wahtonka at home on Oct. 25, 4 p.m.
