The Hood River Valley High School varsity boys’ and girls’ golf teams teed off recently in their first tournaments of the season. Results from each are as follows:
At The Dalles:
In cold, wet and windy conditions, the Eagles took on 13 teams in the first tournament of the season. The boys finished seventh out of 13 teams, with The Dalles and Seaside taking a tie for first place. Individually, Hood River’s sophomore standout Max Gorman tied for first place with two other golfers. Girls’ results were not available.
At Pendleton:
Although the weather was improved, the boys’ team didn’t play as well as they did at The Dalles. The boys finished 14th out of 18 teams, with Max Gorman leading the way with a score of 81. The varsity girls took fourth out of 8 teams, with Sandra Jefferies leading the team with 91 strokes and a fourth place finish.
