After defeating Franklin High School last week (not Lincoln High School as previously reported), the Hood River Valley varsity lacrosse team faced Lincoln on Tuesday. And the still-undefeated Cardinals continued their six-game winning streak with a seventh against the Eagles in a match that would end 14-3.

“They pressured us hard on both offense and defense and we never got anything going,” Coach Mac Jackson said about the game. “The only thing we performed reasonably well in was man-up and man-down.”

Scoring for the Eagles was Paul Spaulding with two goals (one on man-up and one on a rebound) and Jon Ing, who has moved from long-stick to the second middie line.

The boys rebounded from the loss on Wednesday with a 16-5 thumping at home against the Hermiston Bulldogs.

After a slow start that put the Eagles behind 3-2 in the first quarter, the home team picked up the pace and outscored Hermiston 6-1 in the second quarter to take the lead going into halftime.

In the second half Hood River ran away with the game, taking a 10-5 lead after the third and scoring six unanswered goals in the fourth.

Scoring for the Eagles were attackers Alex Evans with one goal and three assists, Henry Hunt with three goals, Sheridan Low with two goals, Jacob Bohince with two goals and Ted Ostrye and Eli Camero with on goal each. Middie Paul Spaulding chipped in with two goals and Gideon Phelps, Ian Bohince, Erik Tedford, Zach Flaming and Jon Ing had one goal each.
