January 28, 2006

Just inside these pages, the citizens of Kid County are ready to welcome Hood River County kids.

Auzzie, Bossco, Tracer, Juniper, Professor Forest and other characters can be found informing and entertaining children in “Kid County Courier,” a four-page, full-color insert that joins the Hood River News in this issue.

“Kid County Courier” carries news and information, features, photos, games, puzzles, and other interactive features with encouraging messages for young people.

Today’s edition includes “Scoping Telescopes,” “I Can Do It: Kids with Disabilities Win in Lots of Sports,” and “Dinner Time: Let’s Make Pasta.”

Hood River News staff adds local photos and information to the features provided by the Olympia, Wash.- based Courier.

“The Courier is one more way the Hood River News strives to reach out to young readers and their families,” said Publisher Tom Lanctot. “The Courier brings enlightening and entertaining information in ways young people will truly enjoy.”

Courier will appear monthly on the third weekend.
