One month has passed since the disappearance of former Parkdale resident Tazu Higashi, 79, who was last seen Jan. 10 at a Lake Oswego shopping center, near her home there.

Higashi has short-term memory loss, according to family members, who believe she may have headed “home.”

Family and friends have searched in Lake Oswego, Tualatin, Wilsonville and nearby communities for Higashi or her silver 2005 Dodge Caravan, license plate number 476 BVG. The Caravan has a handicap parking tag, studded tires and no rims.

“There are a great many silver vans out there, and they all look the same,” said Lake Oswego police Capt. Don Forman. Higashi goes by the name of “Grandma,” and is 4 foot 11 inches tall. If you have information, call Lake Oswego police at (503) 635-0238, or her family’s home, (503) 624-4804.
