Senior American team completes inaugural season

In its first year in existence, Hood River’s 13- to 14 year-old Senior American Junior Baseball of Oregon team finished the season with a record of 14-16. The team, which consists mainly of 13-year-olds, played a great season, especially considering teams from their league (the Portland League) draw from a significantly larger field of players than Hood River.

Most of the boys will move up to Hood River’s federal JBO team next season, where they will continue in the Portland League at a higher level. For players Juan Ledezma, Alan Eaton and Michael Smith, their next season will, if they continue to play, be as freshmen on the Hood River Valley High School team. Coaches noted the three as showing great leadership for the team this season.
