The Hood River Valley boys’ basketball team got its first win of the season as it closed out non-conference play with a 57-42 win over The Dalles-Wahtonka on Wednesday night.
The Eagles controlled the game from start to finish and were led by Shay Huskey and his 24 point effort. K.C. Christensen added 14 for the Eagles while Andy Kennedy pitched in the 13 points.
The Eagles controlled the game from start to finish, holding the Eagle-Indians to just two first quarter points and took a 15-point lead into the halftime break before closing the game out with a 29-point second half to keep it out of reach.
Eagles coach Zach Pauls declared said that his team got to its best start of the season and were able to sustain the intensity for the rest of the game.
“I am proud of the way our boys came out to play tonight and am excited to see sustain our intensity on defense for the start of the Mt. Hood Conference schedule,” Pauls said.
Jason Yecny led the Eagle-Indians with 24 points.
