Man dies in Parkdale shooting

News Release from: Hood River County Sheriff's Office, April 9, 2011 3 p.m.

PARKDALE, ORE. - On April 8, 2011, just after 3 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 6170 Billings Rd. in Parkdale, on a report of a shooting. Personnel from the Hood River County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police arrived at the location and found thirty-one year old Oscar Jose Solorio lying on the ground; unresponsive. Solorio was pronounced dead on scene by emergency medical personnel a short time later.

Deputies took twenty year old Dane Donaghy, into custody at the residence. Donaghy was charged with one count of Murder and was lodged at Northern Oregon Regional Corrections in The Dalles.

Investigators, in conjunction with the Hood River County District Attorney's Office are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Solorio's death. An autopsy at the Oregon State Medical Examiner's office is scheduled for Monday, April 11, 2011.
