The body of an adult male found by sheriff's deputies on Jan. 20 in a wooded area near Tollbridge Park has been identified as that of David Theodore Dethman, 54, of Parkdale.
On Jan. 18, the sheriff's office was contacted by Dethman's father, Fred Dethman, of Hood River, about his son's possible disappearance. The senior Dethman reported not having seen his son since October 2010.
According to Detective Matt English, investigator from the sheriff's office, David Dethman had most recently been living in a fifth-wheel near his previous residence, following the sale of the original property.
Between Jan. 18 and Jan. 20, sheriff's office personnel conducted a thorough search in an effort to locate Dethman's whereabouts.
On Jan. 20, during an aerial search of the area, Sheriff Joe Wampler spotted Dethman's body in a wooded area.
The cause of death is still pending an official report from the Medical Examiner's Office. However, according to English, "There is no indication of foul play."
