Videos: Bands at Windfest 2011

June 29, 2011

The first concert at three-year-old Waterfront Park went about as well as you’d expect a rock and roll show on a sunny and calm Saturday evening in the Gorge to conclude a day-long event called Windfest. The smooth waters of the Columbia were both backdrop and front row seat for the rock and reggae grooves of Current Swell, here with their original song "Little Bird" and the rock-and-roll of Don Placido and Friends, covering Jonathan Edwards' classic goodtime tune "Shanty." While folks watched from sailboats afloat on the Columbia, several hundred people sat on the lawn, in chairs, refreshments in hand, and enjoyed a musical summer night.
