Veterans honored today at Anderson's

There will be a service to honor American veterans Nov. 11 at Anderson’s Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Ave., with a reception to follow.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. with a Color Guard ceremony by the National Guard and Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop members, and will feature a welcome by Mayor Arthur Babitz, an invocation by Chaplain Patrick Stuart, a talk on “Making of the Flag” by Nick Kirby, and two video presentations.

Other speakers include retired U.S. Army Maj. Shaun Benson, U.S. Army Spc. Zac Charles and Jeanne Marie Davis.

Jo Herring, soloist, accompanied by Mary Ann Parrott, will sing the national anthem and “God Bless America,” and there will be a flute medley performed by Dawn Rankin and Julie Eddy.
