Police Log for April 14, 2012 edition

All calls were responded to within the City of Hood River March 17-April 8.

Assaults, harassment, menacing and domestic violence:

March 24 — Second Street, 100 block — Male entered a bar bleeding from the head and face. It was later determined he had been in an altercation outside another bar.

March 27 — Barrett Drive, 4000 block — Officer assisting on a welfare check of an elderly male was assaulted by another male, who was arrested and lodged at NORCOR.

March 31 — 13th Street at May Street — A Multnomah County resident was assaulted in Portland and treated at a Hood River hospital.

April 7 — Oak Street — Subject charged with menacing, theft II and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and arrested.

Controlled substance violations (non-DUII):

March 20 — Belmont Avenue, 1700 block — Male juvenile arrested for possession, manufacturing and distribution of marijuana. Another male juvenile was also cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

March 26 — 12th Street at Pacific — Resident cited for possession of less than once ounce of marijuana and driving without a valid operator’s license.

April 4 — Cascade Avenue, 2200 block — Male arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and lodged at NORCOR.

April 7 — Wilson Street, 1000 block — Officer searched a Hood River residence on a warrant. Residents of the home were charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a minor and lodged at NORCOR.

April 8 — Cascade Avenue, 2400 block — Two subjects arrested for possession of methamphetamine at a Hood River motel following an anonymous tip.

Disorderly conduct, mischief, criminal trespass and vandalism:

March 17 — Fourth Street, 100 block — Officer took report from a resident of The Dalles regarding vandalism done to their vehicle.

March 30 — Katie Lane, 700 block — Officer took report from resident whose window had been broken out.

April 1 — Belmont Avenue, 1700 block — Resident charged with criminal trespass.

April 4 — Sherman Street, 1500 block — Officer took report regarding criminal mischief to a vehicle.

April 8 — C Street, 2100 block — Officer took report of three neighboring vehicles being vandalized with food products.

Driving under the influence of intoxicants:

March 25 — Belmont Avenue at 22nd Street — Driver stopped for crossing the center line and subsequently arrested for DUII.

March 25 — I-84 at milepost 64 — Male arrested and lodged for DUII.

March 30 — Oak Street, 1300 block — Male arrested for driving under the influence and lodged at NORCOR.

March 31 — Wasco Avenue, 2700 block — Female arrested for DUII. BAC registered .13 percent.

April 7 — Country Club at Frankton Road — Male arrested for DUII after failing field sobriety tests. BAC registered .06 percent.

April 7 — Second Street overpass — Portland resident arrested for driving under the influence.

Identity theft or bank/credit card fraud:

None reported

Motor vehicle crashes, offenses and impounds:

March 21 — First Street at Oak Street — Officer took report of hit-and-run.

March 29 — Cascade Avenue, 2100 block — Officer took report of an abandoned scooter at a restaurant, the plate of which had been altered and stolen out of Portland.

April 4 — Second Street at State Street — Officer responded to a non-injury vehicle collision involving two Hood River residents.

April 4 — Belmont Avenue at 12th Street — Officer responded to a motor vehicle crash.

April 4 — Sherman Avenue at 13th Street — Officer cited a Grandview, Wash., resident for driving while suspended.

Outstanding warrants, parole, probation or terms violations:

March 24 — 21st Street, 1100 block — Male arrested and lodged for outstanding warrants out of Multnomah County.

March 24 — Hull Street, 1000 block — Male arrested and lodged on probation violation.

April 3 — Cascade Avenue, 2600 block — Female arrested for outstanding warrant during a traffic stop and lodged at NORCOR.

April 8 — Cascade Avenue, 2200 block — Male arrested on outstanding warrant and lodged at NORCOR.

Theft, burglary or robbery:

March 29 — Cascade Avenue, 1900 block — A Hood River resident reported their smartphone had been stolen from a local restaurant.

March 30 — May Street, 1600 block — Officer took report of the theft of a cellphone.

March 31 — Cascade Avenue, 800 block — An unknown subject(s) removed items from the rear canopy of a vehicle in a residential driveway.

April 1 — Oak Street, 100 block — Juvenile cited for shoplifting at a Hood River clothing store.

April 5 — E Marina Drive, 900 block — Officer took report of a counterfeit $100 bill at a Hood River gas station.

April 8 — Jackson Park — Officer took report of a toilet being set on fire. The fire destroyed the toilet.

March 26 — Sixth Street at Sherman Avenue — A backpack containing personal effects and a passport was found.

April 1 — Oak Street, 1300 block — A Hood River proprietor had a box of checks stolen from the premises.

April 3 — Montello Avenue, 2700 block — Officer took report of a lost purse.

April 3 — Hull Street, 1100 block — A bicycle was found and placed into storage.

April 6 — Wasco Avenue, 2700 block — Officer took report of lost checkbook.
