The MacMillan, McAlexander and Bell Trio will be performing an evening of original music New Year’s Eve at Solstice Wood Fire Cafe in Bingen, Wash., from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 28, The Pines Tasting Room, Hood River, 6:30 p.m. Great dance floor, superb wine, and all the beautiful people will make this a fun time!

Saturday, Dec. 29, 1301 Steak & Spirits, 1301 Belmont, “On the Heights” in Hood River. 7-10 p.m. This show will be as cool as you make it to be.

2012 finale ... New Year’s Eve at The Eagles Lodge in The Dalles. What can we say ... a dance floor the size of a hockey rink, upbeat jump blues and boogie woogie: 9 p.m. til sometime next year.

Clumsy Lovers at CEBU Lounge

There are four nights of special music coming up this week at the CEBU Lounge in Hood River:

n Friday, Dec. 28 — Tony Smiley w/guests, 9:30 p.m.: Tony Smiley, aka The Loop Ninja, is absolutely captivating as he rocks the Boss Loop pedal, looping every single instrument to build a whole world as he takes you along on a ride of rock, world fusion dance mixed with old school roots of ‘80s/’90s new wave, beat boxing mixed with Mongolian throat singing and a dash of Middle Eastern tabla.

n Saturday, Dec. 29 — Hanz Araki & Kathryn Claire Band, 9:30 p.m., Irish flute and fiddle masters: Irish flute player Hanz Araki is the quintessential world music musician. He has performed around the world with the Juno Award-winning Paperboys, The Bridies, Casey Neill and an all-star tribute to The Pogues called “K.M.R.I.A.”

n Sunday, Dec. 30 — Shook Twins, 9:30 p.m., eclectic quirky folk: Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, Shook Twins are a quirky folk band now hailing from coniferous forested Portland. Identical twins Katelyn and Laurie Shook and Kyle Volkman form the core trio. Central elements of their sound are a wide range of instrumentation, including banjo, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, face drum (beatbox), glockenspiel, ukulele, djembe and their signature golden egg.

n Monday, Dec. 31 — The Clumsy Lovers, New Year’s Eve Spectacular, 9:30 p.m., folk-rock/bluegrass/Celtic jam band: The Clumsy Lovers have brought their mix of fiddle and banjo-fuelled, bluegrassified Celtic rock to North American audiences for over a decade. With more than 2,500 performances under their belts, their high-energy shows have worn out dance floors and created a loyal following in 49 states and across their homeland of Canada.
