Tamanawas Falls is a nice hike any time of the year, but there's something special about seeing it in winter. At its most dramatic stage (during very cold periods) icicles the size of trees hang down the entire length of the falls. Snowshoes are ideal when the trail is covered by snow, although cross-country skis offer a much more challenging outing.
