Trash 2 Art: Columbia Art Gallery’s current exhibit, “Trash 2 Art,” is in its final days; the show ends Sunday, Jan. 29. The exhibit features sculpture, paintings, fabric art and other creations employing reused and recycled materials, including this work by Gorge artist Kris Joy. The eyes are made of old shotgun shells. Cardboard, dryer lint, machine parts, recycled glass, aluminum newspaper printing plates, neckties, tools and many other items are crafted into beautiful and provocative works. Printed artists’ statements are available for further exploration of the themes. The show is being co-sponsored by Hood River Garbage. The Columbia Center for the Arts is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, at Third and Cascade streets in downtown Hood River.
