In this fairly unexciting image, an exciting project takes shape in downtown Hood River. The Union Building, on Industrial Way along the railroad tracks, has been sitting mostly empty for decades (except for offices at the east end). Owner and developer Pasquale Barone has started on the first phase of a complete conversion of the building. To start, the west side of the building will be turned into office space. Eventually the majority of the building will be turned into three-story condos with large windows facing north to the Hood River waterfront.
