The effortless strokes of Jan Halstead led everybody in scoring last week at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes.
Jan fashioned a beautiful 717 series in the Wednesday night Fraternal league and in so doing he raised his average well over the 200 mark.
Jan’s game is so smooth and easy, he lets the ball do all the work. Jan could probably bowl all day and night without breaking a sweat!
On the other side of the coin, powerful Chris Voyles stirred the sticks to the tune of a fab 683 set in the Fraternal. Chris, who fires the ball with a ton of speed and revs, raised his average well over the 200 mark also.
On the distaff side, Nancy Asai led all women in scoring as she so often does with a fine 669 series also in the Fraternal. Nancy continued en fuego after popping two 700s last week. Sandy Holmes also climbed over the 600 mark with a nice 601 series in the Tuesday Nite Mixed league.
Gordon Sim topped all seniors again with a solid 632 in the Wednesday afternoon Colts and Fillies. Gordon is now carrying a big 211 average! Stuart Sneider had the high game of the week for the seniors with a super 243.
Fred Bergren had a great outing with a super 672 series that he splashed in the Monday night Industrial league. Fred was 138 pins over his average. Tim Furlong also really had it going in the Industrial where he racked up a great 655 series which was 133 pins over his average.
And, following closely to those two was Leroy Nickerson, who not only notched a 600 series with a fine 601 in the Tuesday Nite Mixed, but he was a whopping 121 pins over his average.
Finally, a hearty welcome back to Jim Block who is bowling like a youngster again after knee replacement surgery.
Jim logged a 200 game in the Thursday afternoon Lads and Lassies and finished up with a nice 575 series.
