Ready to put your boots and bibs on?
The fifth annual WINGS Hoe Down is happening Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Hood River Armory (located at 1590 12th street Hood River).
Local band Larkspur will provide the music for dancing. Barbecue ribs will be served, along with no host wine and beer. Tickets are $50 dollars each ($30 is tax deductible) and are available by calling Suzanne at 541-490-1151. They’re also available online at getwings.net where you can go to find other ways to contribute.
The Hoe down is put on by the WINGS organization which enables young men to build self esteem and obtain necessary skills to reach their full potential.
WINGS was developed in December 2008 and has been providing young men with the experience of a two phased program that helps them become more sustainable and employable. WINGS is based in a home in the
Rockford area, west of Hood River.
The program includes housing, work, training, life skills, education and support, at the Rockford base, and in association with local businesses and organizations.
