On Oct. 29 44 Trails and Dirty Finger Bicycle organized a very successful trail day on Mount Hood. More than 40 volunteers showed up to do maintenance on trails that serve mountain bikers, hikers and horseback riders. Days like this are necessary to keep these trails safe and accessible for all, said spokesman Joe McCulloch.
Support from the local community was outstanding, he said. Those participating were Double Mountain Brewery and Taproom, Dakine, Dog River Coffee, Doppio Cafe and Lounge, Full Sail Brewery, Hood River News, Knead, Kona Bicycles, Mt. Hood Skibowl, Mountain View Bicycles, New York City Sub Shop, Ovino Market, Pfriem Family Brewers, Shortt Supply, Sellwood Cycle Repair, Sixth Street Bistro, Ten Speed Coffee, TerraSpatial Technologies, Timberline Lodge and the U.S. Forest Service-Barlow Ranger District.
“Without the generosity of the local business community projects such as this are not possible,” McCulloch said.
