The Hood River Care Center is sponsoring a Community Care Forum Nov. 27 at the Columbia Gorge Hotel from 3-5 p.m. Matthew Macpherson, ATP, will speak on identifying seating and positioning needs within long-term care, and how to come up with creative solutions. A question-and-answer period, as well as networking opportunities, will follow.
The event is free and open to the public, with a special invitation to medical professionals — particularly occupational and physical therapists and nurses.
RSVP to Jenelle McCleary, director of admissions and marketing at the Hood River Care Center, at 541-380-1656.
Macpherson has worked with four different rehabilitation companies and has personally fitted more than a thousand clients with adaptive seating and mobility devices over the past decade, increasing quality of daily life both at home and in the community.
He received his ATP (assistive technology professional) certification through RESNA in 2008.
