Hood River County is completing a Home Repair Program funded with Community Development Block Grant funds from the Oregon Business Development Department. It is estimated that the project has benefited at least 37 persons — 100 percent of who are low or moderate income — to make necessary health- and safety-related repairs to their homes.
The purpose of the upcoming hearing is for the commissioners to obtain citizens’ views about the project and to take comments about the local government’s performance in regards to the project.
Rehabilitation projects for low-income homeowners covered under the program have included repairs for: dry rot, septic systems, plumbing, electrical, roofing, foundation, weatherization, and siding/painting or improving handicapped accessibility.
The hearing will be held by the Hood River County Board of Commissioners at 6 p.m. on Dec. 17, at 601 State St., Hood River, and the public is invited to offer comment on the program.
Written comments may also be submitted anytime up to and including the hearing date. Please send written comments to County Administration, 601 State St., Hood River, OR 97031.
The location of the hearing is accessible to the disabled; contact County Administration, prior to the hearing date, at 541-386-3970, to let them know if you need special accommodations to attend or participate in the hearing.
