If you’ve been curious about the History Museum of Hood River County and its big renovation, this Friday offers a chance to look inside before the official grand reopening on Nov. 23.
The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with board members on hand to answer questions. A book signing with Macy Guppy at 2 p.m. will feature Guppy’s book on her longtime local journalist/writer mother, Ruth Guppy, “Visits with Mrs. Picket.”
“We’re just doing a sneak peek; we’re not completely done with the exhibits but we just want to show what we have so far,” said Carly Squyers, AmeriCorps volunteer educational coordinator.
For families, the museum will also feature an education space with hands-on artifacts and activities for kids, said Squyers.
“We’re excited about being able to share these with the public,” she said.
The museum is located at 300 E. Port Marina Drive. For more information call 541-386-6772.
