Fun Run to kick off pumpkin parade

— This year’s annual Parkdale Pumpkin Parade will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11:30 a.m. and has a new twist.

Before the parade, the Parkdale Elementary PTO is hosting a one-mile fun run starting and ending at the parade start location at the Hood River County Road Department parking lot on the corner of Allen and Baseline Roads.

Registration for the run starts at 10:30 a.m. is $5 per person and is open to all ages.

The run will start at 11 a.m. with enough time for the runners to come back and join the parade.

All run participants are welcome to walk with the Parkdale Elementary School float on the parade route.

There is no cost to participate in the Pumpkin Parade and any business, club or individuals who would like to join in the fun can decorate a float to ride or walk the parade route.

Families can enjoy watching the parade along Baseline Road between the fire station and the Hutson Museum.
