Police Log for October 20, 2012

All calls were in the City of Hood River Oct. 1-16.

Assaults, harassment, menacing and domestic violence:

None reported

Controlled substance violations (non-DUII):

Oct. 1 — 18th Street at Cascade Avenue — Male arrested for possession of methamphetamine and theft I by receiving during a motorist assist.

Oct. 2 — Cascade Avenue, 3600 block — While at a local business making an arrest, an officer observed a male on probation with a no-alcohol clause. A pat-down for weapons yielded a hypodermic needle that tested positive for heroin. He was arrested for unlawful possession of heroin and probation violation, and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 5 — May Street at 18th Street — A Hood River resident was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Oct. 6 — I-84 at exit 63 — An Oregon man was arrested and lodged for possession of cocaine. He and a female were also cited for possession of less than once ounce of marijuana.

Oct. 7 — 22nd Street at Eugene — A Hood River resident was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and lodged at NORCOR. The resident also received three traffic citations for obstructed vehicle windows, no operator’s license and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Oct. 7 — I-84 at milepost 67 — A Hood River Police Department officer assisted an Oregon State trooper with a disabled vehicle call, which eventually yielded 1.2 pounds of marijuana. The vehicle passenger was a Portland resident, who was arrested and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 8 — N. Second Street at Riverside Drive — A White Salmon resident was arrested for possession of psilocybin (mushrooms) and cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 13 — I-84 at exit 63 — A driver was cited for less than one ounce of marijuana and the passenger cited for minor in possession of alcohol and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Oct. 13 — E. Marina Drive, 900 block — A Hood River resident was arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and lodged at NORCOR.

Disorderly conduct, mischief, criminal trespass and vandalism:

Oct. 8 — 11th Street, 1000 block — Officer took report of a broken window at a business.

Oct. 10 — Ninth Street, 500 block — Officer dispatched to a local church for a damaged sign.

Driving under the influence of intoxicants:

Oct. 1 — E. Marina Drive, 1100 block — A Hood River resident was arrested for DUII alcohol and cited for refusal of breath test, and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 6 — 12th Street, 1800 block — A North Carolina resident was arrested on the charge of DUII alcohol and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 6 — I-84 at milepost 64 — Officer responded to a crash. The suspect was located in Bingen and charged with DUII and reckless driving.

Oct. 14 — I-84 at milepost 62 — Officer assisted an Oregon State Police officer in a DUII-drugs investigation.

Identity theft or bank/credit card fraud:

Oct. 9 — Woodworth Drive, 5100 block — Female reported an unauthorized withdrawal from her bank account.

Motor vehicle crashes, offenses and impounds:

Oct. 1 — Oak Street at Fourth Street — Officer took report of a motor vehicle crash. The offending driver was cited with following too closely and driving uninsured.

Oct. 3 — Wasco Street, 2700 block — Officer took report of a hit-and-run in a local business parking lot. The suspect was found and it was determined to be an accident. Both parties exchanged information.

Oct. 6 — Cascade Avenue, 2200 block — A Washington male was cited for driving uninsured and his vehicle towed.

Oct. 6 — 12th Street, 1800 block — Officer responded to a report of a hit-and-run in a grocery store parking lot.

Oct. 10 — Fourth Street at Oak Street — Officer took report of a motor vehicle crash.

Oct. 12 — Wasco Street, 2400 block — Male arrested for giving false information to a police officer and failure to carry and present license and lodged at NORCOR.

Outstanding warrants, parole, probation or terms violations:

Oct. 1 — Tucker Road — A female reported that a male, current incarcerated in California, had violated a restraining order by calling several times during the day.

Oct. 2 — Cascade Avenue, 3600 block — A male was arrested on a warrant out of Hood River municipal court and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 5 — 13th Street at May Street — Male arrested for violating probation by consuming alcohol. He and another male were also cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.

Oct. 7 — Hood River Toll Bridge — Officer made contact with an intoxicated male was trying to cross the Hood River Toll Bridge on foot. He was on probation and admitted knowing his restrictions, and was lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 12 — May Street, 2800 block — Male arrested on valid warrant out of Hood River County.

Oct. 12 — May Street, 1600 block — A female juvenile was transported to NORCOR for a probation violation.

Oct. 14 — A Street — A Hood River resident was arrested on a protection order violation out of Cowlitz County, Wash.

Theft, burglary or robbery:

Oct. 1 — Oak Street, 100 block — Male from The Dalles caught shoplifting at a local store and was arrested for theft II and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Oct. 2 — Lincoln Street, 1500 block — Officer took report of a theft in Arizona with the victim residing in Hood River.

Oct. 5 — May Street, 2400 block — Officer responded to a report of a possible employee theft of prescription medication at an assisted living residence.

Oct. 5 — W. Cascade Avenue, 2200 block — While parked at a West Cascade business, a New Hampshire visitor’s computer was stolen.

Oct. 9 — Cascade Avenue, 3100 block — Officer took report of a theft from a vehicle parked overnight at a local business.

Oct. 15 — Oak Street, 400 block — Officer took report of the theft of a black Weber smoker.

Other:

Oct. 1 — Oak Street, 0-100 block — A wallet was found and brought to the Hood River Police Department.

Oct. 2 — Ninth Street, 1500 block — Male arrested for improper use of 9-1-1, after calling multiple times to ask for a ride, and lodged at NORCOR.

Oct. 2 — Oak Street, 1600 block — Officer called to a residence regarding a runaway juvenile male.

Oct. 9 — Second Street, 200 block — A lost purse was turned into the Hood River Police Department, owner notified.

Oct. 10 — Second Street, 200 block — A lost wallet was turned in to the Hood River Police Department.

Oct. 11 — Ninth Street, 1500 block — Runaway juvenile located and picked up by his mother.

Oct. 12 — Second Street, 200 block — A lost wallet was turned in to the Hood River Police Department.

Oct. 12 — E. Port Marina Drive, 700 block — Officer called to the Hood River Chamber of Commerce for a found Colorado driver’s license.
