Town Hall presents ‘Enchanted Evening’

The Mt. Hood Town Hall is ready to host its annual fundraiser, “Enchanted Evening,” on April 13.

The event will happen from 6-10 p.m. at the Town Hall, on Highway 35 12 miles south of Hood River. The former schoolhouse is actively used as a community center for a local preschool, art classes, dances, weddings, senior nutrition and many other events.

The evening’s entertainment will be live music performed by Toy Gun Conspiracy alternative rock band, made up of local high school students, and the hillbilly, gospel and blues group Unbroken Circle.

Tickets are $30 per person; this includes a Heart Soup dinner (with sides and breads), one drink and dessert. The tickets are available for purchase online at mthoodtownhall.org or by calling Heather at 541-490-0352.

Four soups created by local chefs will each be based on a different theme, in keeping with the “Seasons of the Upper Valley” theme of the evening.

Proceeds will help in the interior and exterior paint jobs needed at the hall, including removal of the existing lead-based paint. Funds will also help upgrade windows and to make improvements to the kitchen, where food is cooked for the Town Hall’s senior meals program.

Town Hall Board President Christina McGhee said the goal for the evening is $20,000, which will help show community support in making grant applications for the more than $100,000 needed to all the improvements.

The live auction will be led by Marcus Morgan, and features a “Rent A Man” feature, for help with household chores and yard work.

Auction items include a Mother’s Day package, and “All About Golf.”
