Hood River Valley High School varsity girls tennis won all but one match Tuesday afternoon in a home pairing against The Dalles Wahtonka.
Leading the way in first singles was Emilee Ziegner, who dialed in her strokes and battled her way back after losing her first set 6-3 to take the three-set victory. Claire Rawson, Miranda Starr and Siena Harlin all had commanding wins in the singles division while in doubles the only duo to finish in the red was Naomi Greenwald and Elle Webb. The two struggled in their first set but put up a good fight in the second and third against TDW’s No. 1 doubles pair to lose in a close tiebreaker (6-0, 7-6, 1-0).
The girls travel today to Madras for a dual against the Special District 2 White Buffaloes.
