Arts Center accepts NW Plein Air applications

Columbia Center for the Arts is accepting artist applications for its annual Pacific Northwest Plein Air Paint Out and Exhibition.

Now in its ninth year, Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2013, has grown each year both in size and in number of paintings sold.

At the heart of the event is a five-day Paint-Out and Write-Out where works of art and writing are created at various outdoor locations in and around the Columbia River Gorge. Works of art will subsequently be available for viewing and sale during the month-long art show at Columbia Art Gallery.

Applicants are asked to submit five digital images of their plein air artwork and an artist statement through

The entry fee is $35. All applications must be submitted by midnight (Mountain Time) on Saturday, June 15.

Columbia Center for the Arts will not accept applications directly.
