The class of 2017 — students who will be ninth-graders next year at Hood River Valley High School — are invited, with their parents, to an open house on April 18 from 5-8 p.m.

Staff and students will provide tours of campus and offer information on clubs, activities and athletics.

An activities and athletics fair takes place from 5-8 p.m. in the commons, and tours starting in the main office foyer will be provided during the same time period.

A general session for parents and students goes from 6:30 to 7:10 p.m. in the gymnasium.

From 5:40 to 6:25 p.m., and again from 7:15 to 8 p.m., 30-minute sessions are offered on the following topics:

A day in the life of freshmen at HRVHS; Graduation requirements for the Class of 2017; How to get involved in athletics and activities; My child is on an IEP — how does that work at the high school; College now — time to start planning; Electives — so many choices, so little time; and, Support for students — truancy prevention.

Food will be available for purchase from school clubs throughout the evening.

The high school is located two miles south of Hood River at 1220 Indian Creek Road.
