The North Central Oregon Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is hosting its 24th annual fundraising banquet in Hood River on April 27 at the National Guard Armory in Hood River, beginning at 5 p.m.
Seating is limited to 200 people and a sellout is expected. Cash donations are gladly accepted and will be used to purchase the goods and services for the auctions or a raffle.
More than $20,000 of donated items is available through various games and raffles, along with live and silent auctions. The fundraising goal for the banquet this year is to earn $25,000 for the RMEF.
Since 1984, the local chapters across the state have raised more than $18 million which is used to enhance or protect about 720,000 acres of wildlife habitat in the state of Oregon. The local chapter of the RMEF has more than 1,000 members in both Oregon and Washington, from Cascade Locks to Goldendale.
