The fifth annual Heart of Hospice Foundation Butterfly Release will be held Saturday, May 18, at Jackson Park in Hood River from 3-4 p.m. The butterfly is a universal symbol of hope and resurrection.
While supplies last, Heart of Hospice will provide, free of charge, individually boxed butterflies. At the designated time, participants will simultaneously release all the butterflies.
The free event is designed for those who have lost a loved one, a family member, friend or pet. Participants will have an opportunity to share their experiences, thoughts and feelings with others.
The Youth Heart of Hospice volunteers will be there to face-paint the kids and not-so-young kids. The butterfly release is a very touching and dignified way to honor the memory of loved ones.
