The Columbia Gorge Lions Club is seeking vendors for the 2013 Sternwheeler/Portage Days Festival to be held in Cascade Locks June 28-30.
There are between 40-50 spaces available, although some have already been filled. People are expected to attend from all over the region.
A popular attraction each year is the Mountain Men demonstration on Cinder Island. There will also be live entertainment, pony rides and games for the kids, a storyteller focusing on the early history of the Columbia Gorge, and Lion’s BINGO. Wine tasting is new this year, and will take place June 29 only. Parking and admission are free.
Vendor requirements are as follows:
The festival grounds will be open at 9 a.m. June 27 for set up. All construction must be done and booths open for business by 10 a.m. June 28. Booths must remain open during the festival hours and be removed from the grounds by 8 p.m. June 30 unless otherwise arranged.
Food vendors must have a copy of their food license or permit on hand. Sellers must verify that all items are appropriate for all age groups, including the very young, for this family event. The festival committee reserves the right to disallow the sale of all inappropriate items.
All booths must comply with all state and local ordinances and are subject to inspection by the fire marshal. There is a $25 fee required by the State Fire Marshal Office for an inspection by the City Fire Chief of propane tanks in use.
Water is available, but no hook-ups are allowed for individuals. There is a $15 electrical hook-up fee.
No dogs or animals are allowed to roam free on festival grounds.
Vehicles must be parked in the designated vendor parking area. Vendors are responsible for the daily cleaning of their booth space.
RV parking is available at the Port of Cascade Locks campground on a first come, first served basis. Nightly fees are $25 for a full hook-up and $15 for no hook-up.
