Sheriff Log for Aug. 28

All calls were responded to within the County of Hood River Aug. 12-25.

Assaults, harassment, menacing and domestic violence:

Aug. 24 — Forest Lane, Cascade Locks — Male arrested for assault IV.

Controlled substance violations (non-DUII):

Aug. 15 — Westcliff Drive, 4200 block — A husband and wife from Vancouver, Wash., were cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Disorderly conduct, mischief, trespass and vandalism:

Aug. 12 — Forest Lane at WaNaPa Street, Cascade Locks — Officer took report of criminal mischief to a vehicle which resulted in a tire coming off while it was being towed from one location to another.

Aug. 21 — Central Vale Drive, 4000 block — Vandalism reported.

Aug. 25 — S.W. WaNaPa Street, 400 block, Cascade Locks — Male arrested on a warrant issued out of Hood River Circuit Court for failure to appear, and the additional charges of trespass II and criminal trespass II.

Driving under the influence of intoxicants:

Aug. 16 — Highway 35, 6600 block — Driving under the influence of intoxicants reported. BAC registered between .08 and .14 percent.

Aug. 24 — Odell Highway at Summit Drive — An Odell male was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop. BAC registered .09 percent.

Aug. 24 — I-84 at milepost 63 — Male from The Dalles arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop after he accelerated northbound on Second Street, nearly striking a police car broadside. He was also charged with reckless driving, reckless endangering, open container of alcohol and minor in possession.

Identity theft or bank/credit card fraud:

Aug. 16 — Alameda Road, 1000 block — Officer took report of fraud and theft.

Motor vehicle crashes, offenses and impounds:

Aug. 12 — Binns Hill Road — Male cited and released for driving while suspended misdemeanor.

Aug. 16 — Van Nuys Drive, 4800 block — Female arrested for recklessly endangering another and disorderly conduct II, and was lodged at NORCOR.

Aug. 18 — Wy’east Road at Summit Drive — Officer investigated a two-vehicle accident. One driver fled from the scene and was later located, but escaped custody.

Aug. 18 — Wy’east Road, 3000 block — Hit-and-run reported.

Aug. 21 — Gilhouley Road, 3100 block — Juvenile male arrested for reckless driving, reckless endangering and assault III following a motor vehicle crash. He was also cited for no operator’s license, driving uninsured, and minor in possession of alcohol by consumption. He was lodged at NORCOR.

Aug. 22 — Riverview Drive, 2500 block — The owner of a vehicle was cited and released for failure to perform duties of a driver and property damage.

Aug. 22 — Dethman Ridge Road — A Washington resident was stopped for failure to maintain lane. The driver did not have a valid operator’s license and the vehicle was towed.

Aug. 24 — Highway 35 at Van Horn Drive — Vehicle towed for no insurance.

Aug. 24 — Stadelman Drive, 3300 block — Officer conducted a traffic stop for defective equipment following a complaint of possible trespassing that had occurred in the Odell area involving the same vehicle. The driver was identified and cited for driving uninsured, illegal alteration of a plate and warned for defective equipment. The vehicle was towed.

Outstanding warrants, parole, probation or terms violations:

Aug. 14 — Dee Highway, 2900 block — Male arrested for a restraining order violation and lodged at NORCOR.

Aug. 14 — State Street, 300 block — Female arrested on three issued warrants out of Hood River County Circuit Court and lodged at NORCOR.

Aug. 16 — I-84 at milepost 56 — Male arrested for an out-of-state warrant following a traffic stop and lodged at NORCOR.

Aug. 17 — Forest Lane, 300 block, Cascade Locks — Male arrested for probation violation after consuming alcohol.

Aug. 18 — I-84 at milepost 43 — Two males were arrested on outstanding warrants out of Multnomah County.

Aug. 21 — Tucker Road — Male arrested on a warrant and lodged at NORCOR.

Theft or burglary:

Aug. 15 — Westcliff Drive, 4100 block — Officer took report of a stolen vehicle from an automotive repair shop. The owner of the car stated that the car has been taken sometime between Aug. 9-13. The car was later recovered.

Aug. 16 — Tucker Park — Officer took report of a theft from a motor vehicle with the value of stolen items estimated to be $840.

Aug. 17 — Marina Beach, Cascade Locks — Officer took report that someone had taken several items from multiple small sailing boats.

Aug. 19 — Haven Drive, 4100 block — Officer took report of the theft of a sail.

Aug. 21 — Portland Drive, 4100 block — A trailer was taken from the area sometime between Aug. 20-21.

Aug. 23 — Summit Drive, 3800 block — Someone took fence panels from a farm sometime in the last month.

Sex offenses:

Other:

Aug. 12 — Mt. Hood — A search and rescue operation took place on the Cooper Spur climbing route and the Eliot Glacier area on the north side of the mountain.

Aug. 14 — Tucker Road, 1100 block — A mountain bike was recovered.

Aug. 20 — Mark O. Hatfield Trailhead — Three juvenile males were cited and released for public indecency following a report that they had exposed themselves. They were released to their respective parents.

Aug. 23 — State Street — A BB gun was found.
