Students learn ‘culture of community’

Leaders for Tomorrow recently visited local non-profit organizations as part of Cultural and Community Resources Day.

Visits to The Next Door, Columbia Center for the Arts, Gorge Grown and Hood River Adopt-a-Dog rounded out the day. The students went behind the scenes of these local non-profits, learned about volunteer opportunities and the business of running a non-profit.

Students discovered a new appreciation of the vibrant arts and culture scene and of all the organizations that provide services to help our community thrive.

Leaders for Tomorrow is a program of The Next Door that introduces high school students to area businesses and organizations, how they operate, and how they contribute to the community.
