Danny Barnes, Matt Sircely at Double Mountain Dec. 12
Both residing on the Olympic Peninsula, and friends for more than a decade, Barnes and Sircely began to tour the West Coast as a duo earlier this year. An outing to California produced “Sircely and Barnes Live,” recorded in the Santa Cruz Mountains. In October 2013, Barnes released “Shri 108,” his newest collection of songs, supported by beautiful instrumental work alongside elements of electronica, which has been Barnes’ choice of medium in recent years. Danny Barnes and Matt Sircely will perform at the Double Mountain Brewery in Hood River from 8-10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, don’t miss country band Ron Rogers and the Wailing Wind. Double Mountain Brewery, 8 Fourth St., Hood River; 541-387-0042.

Voci, Interludes sing Dec. 7-8
The 60-voice Voci Community Chamber Choir and Interludes Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Mark Steighner will present their annual winter concerts, titled “Blessings and Gifts,” on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. Both performances will be at Hood River Middle School. A $10 donation is suggested.
Although not a traditional evening of Christmas music, the program does have seasonal thematic elements. “We are singing several songs in praise of Mary, or Mother Earth, or the mystery of birth and creation,” said choir member Jim MacMillan. Compositions include Sarah Hopkins’ “Honour the Earth As Your Mother,” Franz Bibl's “Ave Maria,” and William Byrd’s “O Magnum Mysterium.” Interludes, a small vocal ensemble drawn from the ranks of Voci, will present music spanning several centuries and styles.
