Riverside Community Church invites community members to join in a “Longest Night” prayer service Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
As the longest night of the year approaches, the service provides an opportunity for people to acknowledge both the grief and the joy that come with this holiday season.
“In a spirit of candlelit peace, we will gather in the holy darkness with meditative Taize music, reflective readings and silent prayer,” said Rev. Vicky Stifter. “All are welcome — whether grieving or joyful, peaceful or in the midst of struggle.” Centering music will begin at 6:40 p.m., with the service itself set for 7 p.m.
Riverside Community Church, United Church of Christ is located at Fourth and State streets in downtown Hood River. For details call 541-386-5530.
