The History Museum hosts Holiday Open House Dec. 28

After a two-year hiatus, The History Museum’s Holiday Open House is back, Saturday, Dec. 28, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The community and visitors are invited to spend a cozy day at the museum with friends and family, enjoying refreshments, listening to music, playing games and discovering history.

The museum will provide hot drinks, family-friendly activities and live music, in addition to its regular exhibits and kid-friendly opportunities in the Exploration Space.

Admission is free. In the spirit of the season, help the museum give back to the community and bring a canned good or non-perishable food item for FISH food bank. This will also be the last day to view the Alva Day photo exhibit, “A Snapshot in Time,” until next November when the museum will once again celebrate Alva Day Day on Nov. 15.

Live music is planned with the following tentative schedule:

11:30 a.m. — Sweet Adelines

12:15 a.m. — Linda Robertson and friends, instrumental

1 p.m. — Museum Coordinator Connie Nice, piano prelude

1:45 p.m. — Anne Maguire, mezzo soprano, 1940s Christmas classics

2:30 p.m. — Vincenzo, Cowan and Wallace, instrumental trio

3:15 p.m. — Anne Maguire, holiday caroling sing-a-long
