Caitlin Kelley, a 2008 graduate of Hood River Valley High School, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in early childhood/elementary education from Western Oregon University Dec. 8.
Reynolds makes Linfield dean’s list
Rose Reynolds was named to the dean’s list at Linfield College in McMinnville for the fall 2012 semester. In order to be named to the dean’s list, students must complete 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
University of San Diego names Delgado
The University of San Diego School of Business Administration announced that Nicholas Delgado received second honors for the fall 2012 semester.

Loyola Marymount University announces dean’s list
Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles has announced the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester. Listed are McKenzie Kerr and Kenzie Yoshimura, both of Hood River.
Students named to the dean’s list have completed 15 semester hours at LMU and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better. Additionally, a student must have completed all of his or her courses and never received an F in any course.

Park University fall 2012 list of graduates announced
Park University held its December 2012 Kansas City Area commencement ceremony Dec. 15 at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Mo. Approximately 280 Park University undergraduates received bachelor’s degrees and about 145 graduate students received master’s degrees or master’s certificates. In addition, 15 students earned associate degrees or undergraduate certificates.
Pamelyn Ann King, of Fruitland, Wash., who attended Hood River Valley High School, received her Master of Education in multicultural education and teaching.
Hoag, Stenberg, Santillan named to UP dean’s list
The following students from the Hood River area were recently listed on the 2012 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Portland: Karrie Hoag, sophomore, nursing; Philip Stenberg, senior, biology; Omar Santillan, senior, political science. Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for the dean’s list.
The University of Portland is Oregon’s Catholic university and has been closely affiliated for nearly a century with the Congregation of Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Ind.
U.S. News & World Report ranks the institution as one of the top five regional universities in the American West. It is the only school in Oregon to offer a College of Arts & Sciences, a graduate School, and nationally accredited schools of business, education, engineering and nursing.
Hood River student performs in Shakespeare comedy at NWC
Amalia Vasquez, a student at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, will perform in a production of “The Comedy of Errors,” by William Shakespeare, Feb. 15, 16 and 20-23.
Northwestern theatre professor Jeff Barker is directing the classic comedy, which is rife with puns, wordplay and slapstick humor.
Vasquez is a junior and is majoring in psychology at Northwestern College. She will be performing as Pinches in the play. Vasquez is the daughter of Claudia Vasquez of Hood River.
